Glockr had a childhood much like mine. We both had to drive our parents’ station wagon when we learned to drive, and hated it, but unlike myself, Glockr has actually grown up to love them, and has created today’s winning lens all about them.

Station Wagons, An American Icon is a tribute to the “grocery getter.” Learn about the earliest versions of station wagons and how they’ve come a long way from what you remember from the Brady Bunch. Glockr is getting retro with the original Soccer Mom mobile of choice.

We love how he’s highlighted his favorite cars with a description of their unique offerings. Just imagine being able to haul eight of your friends in a classic Town and Country! See which station wagon you love best; stop by to wave hello.

Tawny Frogmouth A fascinating Austrailian Bird

by Oztoo

I’d love to nominate Tawny Frogmouth by oztoo for a purple star. This is a real treat of a lens about a bird that most of us have never heard of. Oztoo knows these birds well as she can observe them from her home in Australia, and has put together an informative guide to this unusual bird. The pictures are adorable and the stylish formatting of this lens complements them beautifully.

We all grew up with childhood heroes. For some it was a sports player or an astronaut, and for many of us, it was someone in our own home.

In My Dad, My Hero, mbgphoto pays tribute to her father. It’s a beautiful story of how her father was raised and taught her and her family the values he held dear to his heart.

An archival-worthy creation, mgbphoto has used dozens of photos and stories to record her memories and tell the world who her dad was. It’s a virtual scrapbook that can easily and instantly be shared with family, no matter where they are. Thanks for showing us another exceptional example of how to use a lens!

They say birds of a feather flock together, but what about Squidoo lensmasters? Since RocketMom’s inception and success, many other groups have been created where lensmasters are sharing ideas, projects, and even lensmaking challenges. From Squidoo specialty groups to community blogging forums to weekly podcasts, small groups of like-minded lensmasters are popping up everywhere!

Have you collaborated with other lensmasters for a project on or off of Squidoo? Read on this lens about our small group of six and the “mini empire” we’ve been building, vote in our poll, then leave a comment (here or there) describing your successes (or failures) in joint ventures with others from Squidoo. In northern Wisconsin, wolves are often a threat to livestock, pets, and personal security, and generally regarded with distaste. However after reading GrannySage‘s lens Woman Who Hobbles After Wolves I am seeing them in a new light.

It started as a sidekick to a favorite book and grew into an educational resource and creative gallery for wolf lovers. Nominating lensmaster wolftyrs writes, “Woman Who Hobbles After Wolves is a beautiful, soul-nurturing lens that really connected with me. I love the book she cites, and the beautiful, misunderstood beings that are celebrated throughout this lens.”
