ABCs of Organizing, by ClutterbugsAh, the air is fresh, spring is here. You know what that means: spring cleaning!

Start April with your cleanest house ever, with the help of Carmen at Clutterbugs and The ABCs of Organizing a Room. After seven years in the Air Force, Carmen decided to become a professional organizer. What a great opportunity for those of us who want to be organized!

In this lens, Carmen guides us through the ABCDs of decluttering and cleaning a room, along with providing specific tips for the kitchen, bathroom, and other important hot spots in your house. In fact, I used this lens to clean the house before I went on vacation, and it only took an hour.

See for yourself how you can make spring cleaning enjoyable. (You’ll at least love the results!)

“I going to double my Squidoo earnings in the coming year by carefully curating my existing lenses (and creating a bunch of new ones, of course). My 2-year experience with Squidoo has shown me how longevity can turn an almost forgotten lens into a valuable piece of web “real estate” with steadily increasing traffic. It makes a ton of sense to update my older pages with interesting new content and better SEO.”

A Bill Paying Notebook, by boutiqueshopsWith the US Tax Return filing deadline quickly approaching, hopefully you’re organizing your paperwork, if you haven’t already finished filing. But as much as we focus on organizing our taxes, we often neglect another important flow of paperwork – bills.

Lensmaster boutiqueshops is helping us stay organized – not to mention avoid late fees and disconnections – with her lens A Bill Paying Notebook.  This simple system will help you keep track of which bills you have coming in and which ones you’ve paid, and when. All that good stuff.  You might just want to adapt the system for other types of paper tracking.

Who would have thought you could create a whole lens around a simple binder you have laying around? Take a look around your house. Those things that seem obvious to you could make a really useful lens for someone else!

So are
you ready to be a Giant Squid? Do you have 50 quality lenses?

Lenses you’d be
proud to show off to your Grandma, best friend, mailman or boss?
Then apply to be a

Giant Squid by sending us your Profile Page at giants@squidoo.com by
Thursday March 31st.

A
lot of people have been asking us lately “What constitutes a quality
lens?” A quality lens is a lot of things. Thought provoking, funny,
personal, well planned out, beautiful to look at, creative, useful,
daring, fun, helpful, educational, passionate, caring, flowing,
grammatically correct, etc. While your lens probably won’t encompass
every aspect on the list it will most certainly have a few! Lenses that
are scammy, poorly constructed, lacking in purpose or underdeveloped
just won’t get our attention.

So use good old common sense. If it
looks like a good lens, passes the Grandma test and you feel in your
gut that you did your best you’re probably good to go. So relax, have a
cup of tea, pat yourself on the back and put your feet up for awhile.
You’ve earned it!

If you have ALMOST 50 lenses you’re still in
the running. It is quite possible to create enough lenses to qualify. 4
days is plenty of time to create some stellar lenses. Think of it as
cramming for a test or writing a term paper, you can do it!

Lastly if you know someone
who is Giant-worthy send me an e-mail at giantnomination@squidoo.com

Ready,

set, GO GIANTS!

The Dog of My Heart, by RainbowseekerLensmaster stazjia is our LOTD nominating queen, and she’s submitted another touching lens, The Dog of My Heart – An English Springer Spaniel. Here, in her own words, is why:

“We lost our little Cavalier King Charles Spaniel last year at the age of 11 and our own English Springer Spaniel is approaching her 13th birthday and we don’t think she has long left. I first read this lens about a year ago and loved it. Rainbowseeker writes with such love of Morgan. I can feel her pain when she writes of her dog’s decline and death. I can share her memories of delightful walks and games with her beloved dog because they were very like the walks and the games I would play with my own dear Saffy who is now too old for such silliness. My heart breaks for Rainbowseeker’s loss and for the loss we will feel ourselves when our own dog dies.”

Here’s to anyone who has ever loved or lost a dog.
